Just the basics in
delicious.
North of Whitefish on the way to the Canadian border is
Point of Rocks, a local's favorite for no-nonsense good
food at good prices.
The menu is simple and true; steak alone, steak &
seafood combinations, prime rib & seafood combinations, seafood
alone, poultry and other edibles like
chicken fried steak and cod filets. All dinners are
served with soup and salad, choice of baked potato,
fries, steak fries (see above), or rice, cheese toast
and house dessert.
We
recommend the sautéed shrimp, flavored like nothing
we've tasted before. The cheese toast is also super
tasty.
They also offer a seniors and kids menu, making Point of
Rocks a good choice for families.
Service is typically Montanan in its friendly 'come on
in' nature, and Point of Rocks' atmosphere is
unpretentious, homey and western in flavor.
The food is worth the drive. Heck, the drive is worth
drive, if you're interested in winding through a valley
of agricultural fields nestled at the base of mountains
carved by glaciers. Keep an eye out for deer along this
route, especially at dusk, this stretch of road is a
popular place for them, too. |
