Walk in the Treetops

Here's something truly different for the family to enjoy- a view of the forest floor from suspension bridges strung high in the trees. Sound dangerous? While safety awareness is definitely promoted, the facilities are well secured and the tour geared to taking it slow and enjoying the bird's eye view.

Located at Big Mountain above the town of Whitefish, Walk in the Treetops is a half milk suspended hike seventy feet in the air through incredible sub alpine forest. The tour is guided by friendly, expert forest interpreters. Ours took the time to stop and show us favorite foods of area animals, and to show us berries that were edible (if not tasty).

The experience is a great way to learn about area flora and fauna, all while on an elevated boardwalk through the treetop canopy. This adventure is truly a unique one, as it is the only one of its kind in the United States.

Along the way there are platforms on which to take a break, enjoy the provided snacks, and take in the view.

We suggest you take a few layers of clothing, in case the weather becomes breezy or rains. Sun block is also a good idea!

Kids 10 and up are invited to participate, and each participant is secured in a safety harness. Snacks, water, and a fanny pack are provided, as well as some amazing views for awe inspiring photos.
