WILDLIFE |

Northwest Montana boasts
an abundance of wildlife in native habitat.
Learn more about some of our wild locals:
|

If you are traveling around the state of Montana
this summer there are some wonderful places to
view wildlife and learn more about ecosystems of
the area. Here are our favorites:
Bearthtooth Nature Center
Beartooth Nature Center
advocates the protection of Montana's wildlife
and its habitats. By receiving and caring for
animals unable to be returned to the wild, the
Nature Center provides an opportunity to educate
our citizens as to the value of wildlife and its
conservation.

Grizzly & Wolf Discovery
Center
The Grizzly & Wolf
Discovery Center is a unique not-for-profit
Wildlife Park and Educational Facility. Located
in the gateway community of West Yellowstone,
Montana one block from the west entrance of
Yellowstone National Park. Visitors will find
exciting and fun family adventure waiting for
them at this AZA (American Zoo & Aquarium
Association) accredited wildlife bear and wolf
preserve.

The Wolf Keep
The Wolfkeep Wildlife
Sanctuary is dedicated to the preservation of
the wolf and the study of wolf behavior. Our
mission is to educate the public about the wolf
and its place in the ecosystem. Knowledge brings
awareness, thereby promoting cooperation and
responsible stewardship of a unique endangered
species indigenous to Montana.

BEAR AWARE IN
GLACIER NATIONAL PARK
Glacier Park is beautiful, serene, and home to
both black and grizzly bears. There is no need
to be fearful while visiting the park, but is
extremely important to be prepared, and to know
some basic information on how bears behave and
how you should react in case of an encounter.
Read about an encounter of ours and learn some
helpful information here...

While wildlife will greet you
around every corner of Northwest Montana, there
are opportunities to get close, learn more, and
experience 'the wild side' that offer an
alternative to traditional vacation activities.
Here are a few of our picks:

THE
GLACIER INSTITUTE
Since 1983, The Glacier Institute, a private
non-profit organization, has been providing
hands on, field based educational adventures to
people from all over the world in nature’s
wildest places, Glacier National Park and the
Flathead National Forest, located within the
Crown of the Continent ecosystem.
